Apple has introduced the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models for customers looking for a sleek and high performance phone that is cost-effective. These models are available for TELUS EPP, Personal and Business users starting from $0 Upfront with TELUS Easy Payment.

Similar to older models, the new flagship iPhones come in two size options; 6.1 inches for the iPhone 14 and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 14 Plus. The recent models also feature identical exteriors, including flat edges, an aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure, and a glass back that allows for wireless charging.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are equipped with new top-notch camera features. With the exception of the ProMotion display that’s exclusively available in Pro models, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus both feature the Super Retina XDR OLED display (up to 1200 nits of brightness), Dolby Vision, a 2 million to 1 contrast ratio, and True Tone (now 10 percent brighter) which can match the white balance of a photo to the amount of lighting in a room.

Another update found in the new iPhone 14 models is the new Wide camera (12-megapixels) sporting a larger sensor, 1.9 µm pixels, and an ƒ/1.5 aperture which can now produce better images taken in low-light environments. There is also the brand new TrueDepth feature that can take up to a ƒ/1.9 aperture and a sensor-activated optical stabilization feature for photos. With the exception of the Ultra Wide lens remaining the same, the new Photonic Engine of the iPhone 14 cameras significantly enhances photos taken in low lighting. This feature expands on Deep Fusion, enabling the iPhone 14 models to produce more detailed and colourful images while retaining textures. The Photonic Engine uses both the device’s hardware and software to range up the camera’s options for Ultra Wide (2x), True Depth (2x), and Wide camera (2.5x).

These TELUS Phones such as iPhones 14 and 14 Plus also come with the new Action mode feature. This addition allows the user to produce smoother-looking outputs by adjusting prominent shakiness and vibrations in videos featuring heavy action. The Cinematic mode, also present in older iPhone models, now also allows users to record in 4k at 24 and 30 fps.

Internally, the new iPhone 14 models use the same A15 chip (6-core CPU, 5-core CPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine) available in the older iPhone 13 models, with a refurbished design for better thermal performance.

The TELUS iPhone 14 and 14 Plus include durable Ceramic Shields as front covers, providing heavy-duty protection from potential damage against hard surfaces. Additionally, the new iPhone 14 models are IP68 water resistant, allowing the devices to hold out against a depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes.

For extra measures, the new iPhone 14 models also come with a Crash Detection feature which can contact emergency services in the event of an accident where the user is unable to reach their phone. This feature is powered through the device’s dual-core accelerometer (measures up to 256Gs), high dynamic range gyroscope power, barometer (detects changes in air pressure), GPS (detects sudden alterations in speed), and microphone which can sense alarming noises.

Additionally, users can also activate Apple’s new Emergency SOS (via satellite) which allows direct communication during emergencies when Wi-Fi and cellular access are unavailable. As long as the user can access an open area, text messages to emergency aid may be delivered for free in the first two years in the United States and in Canada. The satellite connectivity features also apply to the Find My application where users can share their location with friends and family.

The battery longevity of the new iPhone 14 is also an improvement, now lasting for one hour longer in comparison with older models. Comparatively, the larger iPhone 14 Plus sports a longer battery life which can take up to 26 hours of video streaming in contrast to the iPhone 14 (up to 20 hours of video streaming time).

To charge, users may opt for MagSafe (15W maximum) or the lightning cable (at least 20W or more).

The all-new iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are for sale in 128GB, 256 GB, AND 512 GB storage capacities and feature 5G connectivity (sub-6GHz and mmWave in the US), a brand-new Qualcomm X65 modem, Bluetooth 5.3, as well as WiFi 6. For users in the US, the iPhone 14 models now ship with eSIMS instead of physical SIM cards.
