Samsung continues to provide smartphone users with striking and intriguing options to suit a wide range of needs and preferences. The latest offering comes in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, along with another foldable phone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Both devices represent the most impressive foldable smartphone technology available on the current market. Both devices are available at TELUS with an unlimited data plan, but in this article we are going to be focusing specifically on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 – TELUS

It is possible you may be a bit wary of the Galaxy Z Fold series if you have only had experience with the first generation device or the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Although the Fold 2 was a vast improvement over the original, it still left a lot to be desired, especially when considering the price tag. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has received some significant improvements in durability and functionality making it an excellent smartphone choice.

Durable Design

Focusing on a sturdy design was obviously a top priority when the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 was constructed. Both the frame and hinge are made with Armor Aluminum providing a more robust foundation. The quality build ensures smooth yet firm hinge operation using an optimized panel structure. The outside screen is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus, while the inside display is made from Ultra Thin Glass (UTG).

Water & Dust Resistance

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the first ever foldable smartphone to receive a water resistance rating of IPX8. Making such an intricate device with so many moving parts water resistant is an impressive feat.

Although the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is not guaranteed to be dust resistant, Samsung has taken measures to prevent dust from entering the device. Tiny sweeper fibres have been installed in the hinge to sweep out the dust and other foreign substances when the phone is folded. While this feature does provide adequate dust protection, I would not recommend taking it to the beach and setting it down unfolded on the sand.

Display Features

A remarkable feature of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is that it actually has two full size screens. The outside screen offers a 6.2” Dynamic AMOLED display, while the unfolded inside screen delivers a 7.6” Dynamic AMOLED display. The device really functions as a tablet you can fold up and fit in your pocket. Both screens feature a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification.

The foldable display makes it easy to set the phone up on a table or counter and watch video without having to hold the device. It is also great for multi-tasking as you can simultaneously have three apps open on the inside display.

Offering even greater functionality, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is compatible with two S Pen options. The S Pen Fold Edition is designed specifically for use with the Fold 3, and the S Pen Pro is also compatible.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 provides excellent speed and power for a variety of tasks. Specs include:
